/now

Hi there! This is a /now page.

Last updated: June 6, 2023

Things I’m excited about right now:

  • I’m about to paint the back of our house. The old paint keeps peeling of these 100-year-old bricks, so … it’s going to be interesting.
  • I’m considering replacing my trusty 10.5-year-old BMW. I’m also being super cheap, so … who knows!?
  • I got a Super Mario LEGO set for my birthday—my son got the starter set for Christmas—and I just bought the “NES” set as well! We’ll likely be putting it together in the next few weeks.

Here’s the older stuff. It’s still mostly relevant, I didn’t get much done at all!

  • Just started playing the drums! Got one of Roland’s entry-level (electronic) kits.
  • I was building my own CMS and planned to move (only) this site away from WordPress. But then things came to a halt, at least temporarily.
  • I’ve been updating my “IndieWeb plugin” for WordPress. Like, I’m now able to add microformats2 to most block themes (i.e., the newer themes that support the Full-Site Editor) with just the click of a button. Integrating my Webmention plugin, too. My ultimate goal is to have a highly configurable, single plugin for almost all things “IndieWeb.”
  • I’m really, really going to update my (other) WordPress plugins. Got quite a few ideas, so let’s see how far we get.
  • Been working on, and using, my very own feed reader for a few … years now. Time to open-source that f—ker.
  • I previously talked about getting a Les Paul Classic. I’ve since gotten a Traditional!
  • I’ve completely refretted my 1970s SG copy, which wasn’t easy! Thing is … it now needs a new nut.
  • Been working on my 1960s Eko, too. Next up is … a refret.
  • My refinished Telecaster Thinline could still use a few adjustments, and the same goes for my actual SG. My guitars are a bit of an ongoing thing, which I unfortunately revisit only a couple times per year, because priorities.
  • Which is why, although I should probably document my “journey,” I never get around to doing so.
  • I still have quite a bit of work on my Space Invaders cocktail table arcade cab.

And, now that you’re here, feel free to browse my blog posts and random thoughts.
