Yeah, and follow your feeds! (I’m serious, there’s so many messed up feeds, due to WordPress plugins or whatever, or feeds that measure tens of megabytes because they contain all of a site’s posts and pages, ever—this one’s mostly SSG sites, somehow.)

I think because SSG users “hook into” the pre-build loop or whatever it’s called to “also” generate an RSS feed and “forget” to restrict the number of posts to the most recent twenty or so.
@jan as a ssg user, I think youre probably right. The default/sample template for generating the RSS feed for eleventy just adds everything, forever. I didn’t think to limit mine to the last 10 until I saw some sample code where someone was limiting theirs. I try to let people know that their feeds are whacky when I come across them.
