Read Your Website – CSS-Tricks

Yeah, and follow your feeds! (I’m serious, there’s so many messed up feeds, due to WordPress plugins or whatever, or feeds that measure tens of megabytes because they contain all of a site’s posts and pages, ever—this one’s mostly SSG sites, somehow.)

I think because SSG users “hook into” the pre-build loop or whatever it’s called to “also” generate an RSS feed and “forget” to restrict the number of posts to the most recent twenty or so.

@jan as a ssg user, I think youre probably right. The default/sample template for generating the RSS feed for eleventy just adds everything, forever. I didn’t think to limit mine to the last 10 until I saw some sample code where someone was limiting theirs. I try to let people know that their feeds are whacky when I come across them.
