Was asked to add a social media link to a client’s site and I was pleasantly surprised to see the correct icon added in front automatically. Turns out I once wrote the three lines of JavaScript that made that happen. Turns out I also used slick—I know—to rotate (Jetpack) testimonials on the front page. I mean, a slightly tweaked CPT, a custom shortcode, and the default JS library: that’s all it took. No need for “feature-laden,” 3rd-party plugins.
