Why I use CPTs, then, and not taxonomies? I have previously used Post Formats, and found it hard to—inside WP Admin—find things in that big list of posts that would house literally everything, posts, asides, quotes, links, and more. Even created—or rather, recreated—a Post Format Filter plugin for exactly that reason.
Now, I would love to bring Post Formats back, but they’re not 1:1 compatible with the newer microformats, and most themes that properly support them are pretty old. As another option, maybe.
