Been playing with the Webmention plugin a bit. Seems you have to register CPTs with explicit trackbacks support for them to be able to receive mentions. Also made IndieBlocks’ Facepile block work with them, in an MVP-sort-of way. Think I’m going to just hardcode this bit, rather than make it configurable.
