And then there's all these WordPress 'developers' who depend on these bloated, 'premium' themes to ensure their clients get slow, hard to maintain, and possibly vulnerable websites.
I often get contacted by 'web agencies' with _zero_ programming knowledge to solve issues with _pretty big_ sites for _pretty big_ clients. Some would constantly get their sites hacked. One time, I completely rebuilt a site, in under a day, using a custom theme rather than the premium one they'd settled on.
