Couple interesting observations here. Here’s some things I noticed while running my own server for well over three years:
- My federated timeline definitely did show (a few) posts of people I hadn’t interacted with in any way.
- This kinda bothered me, and I wouldn’t in a million years subscribe to a relay or something. Think of all the complete crap you would be serving.
- I never look at the federated timeline and have zero interest in moderating one.
